DESCRIPTION:As part of the IAFC’s Officer Development Program Alex will be presenting at 2025 Fire-Rescue International in Orlando\, Florida. \nThis course equips company officers with the tools to lead effectively without falling into the trap of micromanagement. Participants will explore the balance between oversight and autonomy\, learning how to foster trust\, accountability\, and high performance within their teams. Through real-world examples and practical strategies\, officers will gain confidence and managing personnel while developing future leaders in the fire service. \n\nLearning Objectives:\n\nIdentify how to empower firefighters while maintaining high standards.\nApply coaching techniques that develop leadership without micromanagement.\nBuild a culture of trust\, ownership\, and morale within fire crews.\nRecognize and mitigate the impact of leadership styles on team stress and burnout.
