How to Replace Your Fire Chief With AI releases Tuesday, October 27, in paperback and Kindle editions. The Kindle edition is open for pre-order now. There is no venue and no registration. Release day is the event.

The book follows Chief Dana Mercer through a year in which an AI system takes over much of her job. It drafts policy, finds the gaps in response data, and builds the strategic plan. Then it reaches the parts of the job no system can do: being present after a line-of-duty death, reading a council room, walking into a station with a problem that has been sitting in reports for two years.

Each chapter pairs the story with practical guidance and questions for fire officers on using AI well, and on protecting the parts of leadership that stay human.
